Facile Synthesis of Flower-Like TiO2-Based Composite for Adsorption–Photocatalytic Degradation of High-Chroma Methylene Blue

A flower-like TiO2-based composite (denoted as Zn-Ti-6) was prepared using a zinc oxide template for adsorption–photocatalytic degradation of high-chroma methylene blue. The reaction took place in an alkaline environment following hydrochloric acid treatment to remove the and form composite. Sodium hydroxide played both roles morphology-directing agent reactive etchant. possible mechanism formation Zn-Ti-6 proposed. adsorption photocatalytic behavior on blue (MB) removal also investigated. results revealed that showed better performance than TiO2 nanoparticles owing its much larger specific surface area, more abundant hydroxyls, lower photoluminescence intensity. data were well fitted pseudo-second-order pseudo-first-order kinetics models, respectively. excellent is largely beneficial subsequent wastewater treatment. Overall, this study contributes facile fabrication strategy achieve wastewater.
